Traditional Newfoundland Foods & Crafts.
Roger Bidgood was inducted into the Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame in 2004.
The mission of Junior Achievement is to inspire and educate young Canadians to value free enterprise and to develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Roger Bidgood made his first dollar selling cods heads, which he acquired in a rodney under the stages of Petty Harbour, to farmers in the Goulds at age 10. If the Junior Achievement Group had existed in 1932, Roger would have had many ideas for the group.
The Bidgood Family would like to congratulate the other inductees of the 2004 Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame – Joseph Thomas Swyers founder of a 100 year old Bonavista Family Business and Harold and Alfred Harmsworth who originated from England and developed the paper mill in Grand Falls
Bidgood's - a family owned and operated business that has become a household name in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Working together since 1947 Roger and Jenny Bidgood's love and appreciation of Newfoundland, its resources, especially its people, inspired the ideas that has made Bidgood's the unique and successful business it remains today.
Following their hearts they found fulfillment in developing a food line made totally from local products, from local recipes and by local people. Roger and Jenny's belief in Newfoundland made them forerunners in the area of Newfoundland Product Development.
